Where does the time go??

Well what can I say.. I am a major procrastinator as I have said in past blogs and I also started school and a new job, so that really does not help the situation. So once again I apologize in advance for the long post, but I guess that is just the way I do it and at least I am better then my sister cause its been a year since she last posted.. Becky that is me calling you and and my lame attempt to get to you update your blog!! The past month and a half has been really fun. To sum up most of this post (just in case you are not inclined to read on!) we have spent a lot of time with family and friends and have loved every minute of it!

Here is where the month of August starts.. with the back of my head!! haha just kidding, but kinda really!

It starts with me finally deciding to do it.. chopping off my lucious locks for love!! I decided that when Mark got home from his trip (as I will discuss in more detail below!) I wanted to surprise him.. and I was also super sick of the homely hair do - as you can see from the pic above! It was a girl in my sisters ward who cut it and she let Becky make the first cuts, while it was in the ponytail. I am donating it to locks of love, so it was kind of cool to have my bald sister cutting it off! This is the new hair cut. I like it in a lot but, I also miss being able to throw it in a pony tail and have it out of my face! But with 2.5 hours and a big pile of hair later, this is what you get!!

Like I said there had been a lot of family and friends time. I am too big of a baby to be home by myself, so while Mark went on his trip I went and stayed with family! In the week I was home while Mark was gone.. I had a friend sleepover with Chantel, Roni and Stefanie. We were able to catch up and laugh. I love sleepovers, so this was a big highlight for me! However, every night was a sleepover night because Becky's husband was also out of town and because she is too big of a baby too we both slept at our parents house. I got to sleep with the kidlets every night. By the end of the week I had gone out so much Jensyn told me I needed to be home early so that we could go to sleep together!

I was also able to catch up with some of my old high school cheer friends that I had not seen forever. Shellene, Marina, and Sam, it was a blast talking about old times!

Moving on to Mark's highlight of the month of August... His dad and his brothers went on a week long fishing trip to Canada. They left Saturday morning and got back Friday/Saturday night/morning! Half of the brothers drove and the other half flew. They did this so that they could drive all the fish back. Mark was one of the "lucky" ones that drove! It was around a 24 hour drive each way. They had to catch a farry and going and coming home. On the way home they were not able to get the truck on the farry, so the ones driving had to stay behind so the ones flying could catch their flight. I told Mark to be sure to take a lot of pictures and he took a few, but this is the only one that he took of himself.. I am not sure he really gets the concept of picture taking!! (But here he is in Canada!!)

Luckily he has brothers that took some pictures with him in them! Here is what they caught in just one of the days they were there! Mark caught the biggest Salmon out of everyone (but in the picture that is not the one) and Parry- Marks dad, caught the biggest Halibut. We do have a freezer full of fish, so if anyone wants to come and visit us, we can have a feast! They had a ton of fun and would go back anytime if they could! Mark did get sea sick, but that only put him out about an hour of the whole trip!

The girls on Marks side decided that we needed to do something fun while the boys were gone so we went to Park City for a day! We shopped all day long, then went to the alpine slide, however none of us were able to ride the slide because of rain. My sister in law Kim and I decided that we were going to do the big tramp with all of the kids. This is everyone watching us and the kids on the tramp!

Yes I was just like a little kid flipping all around. At first I was like this is really fun, then I was like ooo this is kinda high and its kinda making me nauses, then I was like wow I am super out of shape and this is making me really tired!! I did a double back flip a couple of times. I screamed, bloody murder the first time I did the double back flip because I saw the tramp coming closer and closer as a roatated around!.. it was really loud and everyone laughed, it was a little embarrasing, but that is the kid in me! After I got off the ride all my nieces and nephews gave me a high five.. they thought it was pretty cool that I could do backflips! We ended the night with dinner at delicous Cafe Rio.. just what I like! It was a fun day in Park City!

We woke up early the next morning and went to Marks cousin Ashleys wedding in the Salt Lake temple and we we went to the wedding luncheon. I love the opportunities I have to get to spend time with Marks family and bond and have fun with them! It's amazing how you really do become like a sister with the inlaw side!

I have been or had been craving my moms yummy homemade rolls, so I decided to be a little Betty Crocker and try them out for the first time. I have to say I was impressed with myself, they actually raised, did what they were supposed to do and tasted delcious, we ate them for breakfast lunch and dinner for a few days!

We have only been home one weekend in the past month and a half. It is Hunting season! Last weekend one of Marks hunts ended, but we still went down because our 2 sister in laws have/had big bull elk tags. I say have/had because Lorna shot her big 6 X 6, but Alisa is still searching and has until Thurday to find her perfect guy!! But we went up and helped Alisa and Brandon. We sat on a ridge for a good part of the day looking and listening for elk and radioing to them when we heard and saw anything. We had lots of fun being goofy together and it was fun for us to just sit and relax in the sun. It was the first time I have heard an elk bugle in real life-the other times it has been my Justin my brother, driving me crazy "practicing" with his call. It was so awesome to hear it. It just might have turned me into a hunter.. then again maybe not!! :)

This was the sunset by the end of the day! it was so pretty the picture doesn't do it justice! It was so nice to go up the mountain, admire all the beautiful things that God has created for us and have a relaxing day with the husband!

We have had a great couple of months. I hope I can stay more updated on this blog thing, but I never make any promises! It is too hard with school and all to be on top of it! School is going well so far I am enjoying learing, but am also stressed out with tests and assignments. Marks work is going good. However, ATK is laying off another portion of its employees so we are playing the waiting game, which is not a lot of fun. We enjoy living out of the city, but do not enjoy being away from family, so we hope that we can keep this job, but if we don't we will move where we are supposed to be! Hope all of you are doing well and hope I didn't bore you with the long update!! :)

MUSIC!!
